WOW– we are done with Gospel Journey and now as we head into the New Year, we are going to be focusing on how we can share Jesus with our friends by reaching out, BUT we don’t need to freak out!

In March we will be taking the 6th,7th & 8th grade to Dare to Share in St. Louis.  I want to give you parents a heads up so that you can be planning and preparing for this special event in the lives of our middle schoolers.  They have been learning to share the gospel through Gospel journey on Wednesday nights.  Dare to Share is a conference lead by the same man who did Gospel Journey.  The students will be learning to put what they have learned into action and share their faith during this weekend with lost people in the St. Louis area. 

I am trying to keeps costs down so that all students may participate.  Sign ups will begin January 1st .  At that time a waiver & release form will need to be turned in along with $30. 00.  I can only take the first 34 who sign up.  Final payment will be due  February 5th (the final day to sign up).  NO LATE REGISTRATIONS will be accepted.

Before we start our new series, Reach out, don’t freak out we will be watching The Nativity on Wednesday nights.  Also, Mystie Lucast taught us last Wednesday night from Proverbs.  If your student would like to teach a Wednesday night bible study, let Dyann know!

Please talk to your students about what they are learning on Wednesday nights and on Sunday mornings! 

We are challenging our selves to raise money for Gospel for Asia.  We have asked students not to ask mom and dad for money, but to hit the streets and rake leaves (or shovel snow by the time this comes out!).  They can do extra chores around the house or for neighbors for a donation!  We want our students to earn this money and have the satisfaction that they helped people learn more about Jesus.  All the money collected will be brought to Sunday school classes and then class with the most money brought in will get to decide what we buy for Gospel for Asia with all of the money collected.

January 12th – 6:30pm Volunteer Appreciation Dinner—details to come.

January 29th – No Option 56 - Celebrate communion with your family. 

February 5th – Super Bowl Party in the Middle School Room—details to come.

** Option 56 is an OPTION that is offered during 1st and 2nd service for all 5th and 6th graders who would like an alternative to  the main service in the sanctuary.  It takes place in the middle school room during the Sunday Morning Worship Services! 

Option 56 is not held on the last Sunday of the month so that our students can attend worship service and take communion with their families.
