What does it mean to have a pure heart in a world — and even a church — where deception can so easily take root? This week, we journey into one of Scripture’s most sobering passages: the story of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5. Against the backdrop of a Spirit-filled, generous, and unified early church, this couple chose spiritual performance over genuine devotion — and the consequences were swift and final. But this message is not primarily about judgment. It is about purity. A pure heart, we discover, is not a perfect heart — it is a guarded, humble, and repentant heart. God sees beyond our public actions to our private motives, and He cares deeply about the integrity of His church. Through five compelling movements — The Scene, The Sham, The Sentence, The Setup, and The Shock — we are challenged to examine our own hearts, to pursue authenticity over applause, and to remember that what we do for God must truly be for God alone.
