We often think that God and His justice have abandoned us when we suffer for His name or experience tribulations in this life. Paul reminds us that God has not forsaken us but is actually preparing us for His return and everlasting kingdom.
Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men[a] from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, 2 “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose,[b] and we have come to worship him.” – Matthew 2:1-2
The problem with animal sacrifices was that every time they were offered, they served as a reminder that sin had not been completely forgiven. The beauty of Christ’s sacrifice is that it is a constant reminder that all sin has been completely forgiven!
“The very things Satan wants to use to discourage us from running our Christian race, are the things God is lovingly using to make us stronger.”
Hebrews 12:4-13
Jesus is the faithful priest, the perfect judge, and the ultimate victor!

“God is always by my side, but He’s not always on my side.”

Inevitably, God wants to use us for purposes bigger than what we can see and understand. Sometimes our own prejudices or preferences keep us from full obedience and blessing. God wants to realign our hearts to match his so that His plans to rescue people can be accomplished through us.
