Signs of Life: Leadership | Acts 6:1-8

This sermon invites us to consider the surrendered life of Stephen, a faithful servant in the early church who was “full of faith and power” because he was full of the Holy Spirit. Stephen’s story reminds us that sacrifice for Christ does not begin in one dramatic moment; it grows from a daily life of surrender, obedience, humility, and availability. Before Stephen stood courageously before hostile leaders, he first served widows faithfully in an overlooked ministry. His faith was not a tool for personal comfort, but a steady trust in God that remained obedient even when obedience became costly. His power was not personality or self-confidence, but the Holy Spirit working through weakness. Like Stephen, we are called to rise above minimum Christianity and ask, “Lord, how completely can You use my life?” The message challenges us to serve where we are needed, trust Christ when suffering comes, and live so filled with Jesus that under pressure, His character is what comes out.
