“Ruth” is one of two biblical books named after a woman. The other is Esther. The book of Esther is the story of a Hebrew woman living in a Gentile land, while Ruth is the story of a Gentile woman living in the land of the Hebrews.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men[a] from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, 2 “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose,[b] and we have come to worship him.” – Matthew 2:1-2
At the cross, Jesus won the ultimate victory over the devil and death. He now freely extends that victory to those who battle fear and temptation.
