Guest speaker George Dennehy shared his powerful testimony of being born without arms in a poor Romanian village, abandoned at birth, and left in an orphanage where he was considered cursed and expected to die. God intervened by moving the hearts of Mike and Sharon Dennehy in the U.S., who saw his photo in an adoption newsletter and brought him home at age two, giving him a new name, family, and future. George drew parallels between his adoption and God’s adoption of believers, emphasizing that our worth comes from God’s love, not our abilities. He recounted physical and emotional challenges, including bullying and depression, and how God shifted his perspective through John 9 — that his disability could be used for God’s glory. He reminded listeners that everyone has “disabilities” in the form of sin or brokenness, but God can use those very things to bring hope and redemption.
