“On every single page of Scripture, buried in every ritual, and seen in every sacrifice slaughtered, there is a prophetic portrait of the person and work of Jesus.”
Knowing Jesus allows us to serve God under a better covenant. Just as the covenant is greater, so is the weight of responsibility.
Hebrews 12:18-29
2nd Corinthians 5:17-6:3
“The church in ancient Philadelphia was no losing team in God’s eyes. Though the world may have seen them as weak and seemingly insignificant, Jesus looked at this church and saw a championship team, full of faith and good works.”
“What we now know spiritually in our hearts, God intends to bring about physically on the earth.”
-Pastor Josh Blevins
Inevitably, God wants to use us for purposes bigger than what we can see and understand. Sometimes our own prejudices or preferences keep us from full obedience and blessing. God wants to realign our hearts to match his so that His plans to rescue people can be accomplished through us.
As God’s prophetic plan unfolds in the world, the Christian has a day of hope and desire ahead of them when Christ appears to gather His church. But another day looms for those who reject the gospel. Knowing that we have hope in Christ, we must carry that hope to as many as we can here and now.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-4
If Moses, who faithfully represented God, deserved honor as the builder of God’s house, Jesus deserves greater honor as the owner of the house. To honor Christ, we must hold fast to our confession of faith and take heed to the voice of Jesus.
Hebrews 3:1-15
To reject the sacrifice of Christ is to reject any hope of rescue from judgment and forgiveness of sin. No other sacrifice can suffice, and neglect of Christ’s salvation only leaves one in the place of unavoidable judgment. Continuing in Jesus, and Jesus alone by faith is the sole path to eternal salvation.
