Series: Topical Studies

Book: Psalms

Scripture: Psalm 27

This message walks us through Psalm 27 to remind us that God often does His deepest work in seasons of waiting, weakness, and uncertainty. From a place of personal recovery and forced stillness, we’re invited to see how David moves from fear to faith, from desperation to grounded trust, by seeking the presence of the Lord above all else. The psalm reveals a progression of the heart—responding to God’s invitation, finding security when circumstances and people fail, surrendering personal control, and learning to wait with courage and hope. Rather than passive resignation, waiting becomes an active posture of trust, shaped by prayer, God’s Word, and confidence in His character. When strength runs out and clarity feels distant, this passage reminds us that the Lord is our light, our salvation, and our strength—and that even in the middle of hardship, we can believe we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
