When Isaiah Meets Jesus

Scripture: Isaiah 6

In Pastor Kent Klundt’s message from Isaiah 6, he emphasizes the transformational encounter the prophet Isaiah had with the living Christ. This vision of the Lord on the throne, surrounded by seraphim declaring His holiness, convicts Isaiah of his sin, especially his “unclean lips,” and leads him to sincere confession. Through a symbolic cleansing from the altar, Isaiah experiences forgiveness and purification. Pastor Kent uses this powerful imagery to show how an authentic encounter with God’s holiness leads to personal conviction, cleansing, and ultimately a calling to serve.

The sermon further highlights that knowing about God is different from truly knowing Him. Like Isaiah, true transformation comes when we recognize God’s glory, confront our sinfulness, and surrender fully to His lordship. Pastor Kent challenges the congregation to not merely be hearers of the Word, but to respond in obedience, saying, “Here am I, send me.” The message concludes with the call that the gospel is not the end of our journey but the beginning of a life fully yielded to the mission of Jesus Christ.
