Before the Law of Moses and the Levitical priesthood, God revealed His ultimate plan for an eternal priesthood through the Old Testament figure of Melchizedek. Jesus was the ultimate fulfillment of a priest who was outside the legal requirements of the law and the limitations of a flawed human priest.

Regarding the security of our salvation, Jesus will never forget us, never lie to us, and never break His promise. Therefore, we must remain steadfast in our faith and service to Christ until we see Him face-to-face.

If Moses, who faithfully represented God, deserved honor as the builder of God’s house, Jesus deserves greater honor as the owner of the house. To honor Christ, we must hold fast to our confession of faith and take heed to the voice of Jesus.
