Scripture: Colossians 1:24-29

Pastor Josh Blevins’ message was a heartfelt call to worship and faithful living that centers on the supremacy of Jesus and the power of His sacrifice. The core of his sermon was an in-depth teaching on Colossians 1:24-29. Drawing on Paul’s words, he explained that: Suffering as a Privilege: Paul rejoiced in his sufferings for the sake of the church because, through suffering, believers identify with Christ’s own sacrifice. The Mystery Revealed: The “mystery” is that Christ now lives in every believer, offering the hope of eternal glory—a truth once hidden but now made clear through Jesus. Ministry as Stewardship: True ministry isn’t about personal acclaim but is a stewardship given by God. It involves preaching “him, we preach”—focusing solely on Jesus and warning against straying from sound doctrine. Pastor Blevins challenged the congregation to embrace the cost of discipleship, to serve even when it’s hard, and to resist the modern tendency toward comfort and entertainment over transformational truth. He encouraged each person to recognize their unique calling in God’s plan and to labor in love for the sake of others, knowing that every sacrifice in Christ points toward eternal glory.
